The 2XO Oak Series American Oak Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is a product from the new whiskey brand 2XO, created by renowned blender Dixon Dedman. The name "2XO", which stands for "Two Times Oak", reflects its unique blending process, where Dixon re-barrels his hand-selected whiskey into new charred oak barrels. This process results in a unique combination of intense flavors, character, and complexity.
The American Oak blend of this series is notable for its bold notes of vanilla and caramel, which arise from the secondary addition of highly charred white oak introduced toward the end of maturation. These sweeter flavors create a complex balance with the spice notes originating from the rye in the mash bill.
