In addition to the deep bourbon barrel notes of toasted coconut shavings, charred oak, and sweet, creamy yellow corn polenta, one also finds flavors of pot de crème au chocolat with fresh whipped cream, ravioli in brown butter with sage and brown baking spices, dried apricot, apple tarte tatin, egg custard, eclairs, prunes in syrup (prunes d’Agen), and heady spring lime blossoms. Complex and Robust

This whiskey is dense, complex, and robust pour. You get hints from the sherry finish, but the armeniac is the star and plays well with the underlying bourbon. I don’t have time to write tasting notes, but it is a special bottle that likes air, is delicious neat, and really releases a ton of oils with a few drops of water. It’s worth the hunt.
