BOURBON

Bourbon is a type of American whiskey that is made from a mash bill of at least 51% corn, distilled to no more than 160 proof, and aged in new, charred oak barrels for a minimum of two years. The name "bourbon" comes from the fact that it was originally produced in Bourbon County, Kentucky. However, bourbon can now be made in any state in the United States, as long as it adheres to the aforementioned production guidelines. Some notable bourbon brands include Maker's Mark, Buffalo Trace, Blanton's and Michter's. Bourbon is commonly enjoyed neat, on the rocks, or in cocktails such as the Old Fashioned and the Manhattan.
