Extra Añejo Tequila | 44.4% ABV | 88.8 Proof | 750mL | El Arenal, Jalisco, Mexico | 100% Blue Weber Agave | 3-, 4- & 5-Year Tequila Blend | American White Oak | Cask Strength | Additive-Free | NOM 1586

Process & Profile

Chamucos Tequila Extra Añejo is a cask-strength marriage of carefully selected tequilas aged for three, four, and five years in American white oak barrels. Produced at Destilería Casa de Piedra in El Arenal, Jalisco, it begins with 100% Blue Weber agave cooked in stone and brick ovens before extraction through a roller mill.

The agave juice undergoes open-air fermentation in stainless steel tanks and is double distilled in stainless steel pot stills. Extended barrel maturation develops a rich profile of roasted agave, caramelized fruit, vanilla, dark chocolate, coffee, baking spice, and toasted oak while retaining the earthy agave character associated with Chamucos.

Tasting Notes

  • Nose: Roasted agave, vanilla, dark chocolate, coffee, caramel, toffee, caramelized pineapple, Ceylon cinnamon, and a hint of smoke.

  • Palate: Rich and velvety with baked fruit, toasted caramel, roasted nuts, dark chocolate, cinnamon, clove, leather, and seasoned oak.

  • Finish: Long and warming with lingering cooked agave, caramelized fruit, baking spice, cocoa, and toasted oak.

What Makes It Special

  • A cask-strength blend of tequilas aged for three, four, and five years.

  • Matured in American white oak barrels for deep fruit, caramel, chocolate, and spice characteristics.

  • Bottled at 44.4% ABV (88.8 proof) without dilution to standard tequila strength.

  • Produced from 100% Blue Weber agave at NOM 1586, Destilería Casa de Piedra.

  • Uses traditional stone and brick oven cooking followed by open-air fermentation.

  • Produced without additives, allowing the mature agave and oak-derived flavors to remain prominent.

How to Enjoy

Chamucos Tequila Extra Añejo is best enjoyed neat in a tequila or tasting glass. Allow it to rest for several minutes after pouring so the roasted agave, caramelized pineapple, dark chocolate, coffee, and oak aromas can fully develop.

A few drops of water can soften the cask-strength intensity and reveal additional fruit and vanilla. It may also be served over one large ice cube or used in a luxurious Tequila Old Fashioned, although its extended maturation makes it especially suited to slow sipping after dinner.
