The Christian Drouin Calle 23 Angels Calvados is an innovative and unexpected expression from the renowned Calvados producer Christian Drouin. This calvados is part of the Experimental series and was matured for ten years, including a finishing period in a pair of casks that previously held Calle 23 Tequila. This process has resulted in a unique profile where earthy nuts and vegetal olive notes intertwine with the familiar stewed apple notes at its core.
In terms of tasting notes, the Calvados presents a complex array of flavors. Initially, you'll find an oily, earthy truffles and walnut oil profile, complemented by green olive and singed herbs. This leads to a creamy vanilla and baked apples mid-palate. The finish is characterized by a lingering roasted nuttiness, powerful layers of orchard fruit, and a soft touch of oak spice.
