Process & Profile

Maker’s Mark Cellar Aged Bourbon 2026 Release is the fourth annual expression in the distillery’s limited Cellar Aged series. Bottled at cask strength, the 2026 release combines 49% 11-year-old bourbon, 33% 12-year-old bourbon, and 18% 14-year-old bourbon, creating one of the most mature blends released by Maker’s Mark.

After beginning maturation in traditional Kentucky warehouses, selected barrels are transferred to Maker’s Mark’s limestone cellar at Star Hill Farm. The cellar maintains temperatures around 50 degrees, slowing the influence of the oak while allowing continued oxidation and maturation. This cooler environment preserves the fruit, sweetness, and soft texture associated with Maker’s Mark while developing additional richness and complexity without excessive bitterness.

Tasting Notes

  • Nose: Dark cherry, clove, vanilla bean, and soft orchard fruit.

  • Palate: Enveloping layers of honey, brown sugar, ripe plum, vanilla, and mature oak.

  • Finish: Warming and silky with almond, nutmeg, crisp green apple, and lingering sweetness.

What Makes It Special

  • Blended from 49% 11-year-old, 33% 12-year-old, and 18% 14-year-old bourbons.

  • Bottled at cask strength at 56.05% ABV and 112.1 proof.

  • Matured in both traditional Kentucky warehouses and Maker’s Mark’s proprietary limestone cellar.

  • Cooler cellar conditions slow tannic oak extraction while allowing fruit, sweetness, and texture to develop.

  • The fourth annual release in the highly allocated Maker’s Mark Cellar Aged series.

  • Offers an older and more complex expression of the distillery’s signature wheated bourbon profile.

How to Enjoy

Maker’s Mark Cellar Aged Bourbon 2026 Release is best enjoyed neat in a Glencairn glass or similar bourbon tasting glass. Allow the whisky to rest for several minutes after pouring so the dark cherry, vanilla, orchard fruit, honey, brown sugar, plum, and mature oak notes can open fully.

A few drops of water can soften its cask-strength intensity and reveal additional fruit and sweetness. A large ice cube provides a slower dilution for drinkers who prefer a cooler pour. Its blend of mature bourbons, limestone-cellar aging, and annual limited availability also makes it a strong choice for whiskey collectors, milestone gifts, and special-occasion sipping.
