American Single Malt Whiskey | 50% ABV | 100 Proof | 750mL | Denver, Colorado, USA | 11 Years Old | Bottled-in-Bond | 100% Malted Barley | Limited Release

Process & Profile

Stranahan's 11 Year Bottled-In-Bond 250th Anniversary Edition American Single Malt Whiskey is the distillery’s first-ever Bottled-in-Bond release and the oldest Colorado Bottled-in-Bond whiskey released to date. Created to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the United States and 150th anniversary of Colorado, this limited release brings together American single malt character, extended maturation, and the strict production standards of the Bottled-in-Bond designation.

Made entirely from 100% malted barley, the whiskey was distilled at Stranahan’s during a single distillation season from January through June 2015. It then matured for 11 years in new American white oak barrels with a level 3 char inside a federally bonded warehouse in Denver.

After maturation, the whiskey was cut to exactly 100 proof using Rocky Mountain water from Eldorado Springs. The result is a full-bodied American single malt with layers of baked orchard fruit, caramel, dark chocolate, molasses, charred oak, and warming spice.

How to Enjoy

Stranahan's 11 Year Bottled-In-Bond 250th Anniversary Edition American Single Malt Whiskey is best explored neat in a whiskey or Glencairn glass. Allowing it to rest for several minutes helps reveal its candied fruit, tobacco, leather, caramel, and dark chocolate characteristics.

A few drops of water can soften the 100-proof intensity and bring additional orchard fruit and oak spice forward. It can also be served over a large ice cube or used in a spirit-forward Old Fashioned or Manhattan, though its age and limited-release status make it especially rewarding as a slow sipping whiskey.
