Dana Estates “Lotus Vineyard” Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Cabernet Sauvignon | Approx. 15% ABV | 750 mL | Napa Valley, California | Estate Single-Vineyard
Process & Profile
The Lotus Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon from Dana Estates is sourced from the rugged 12-acre Lotus Vineyard on Napa’s Vaca Mountains east side. Vines struggle on steep slopes (~35–40° gradient) with rocky, volcanic soils and minimal water, producing deeply concentrated fruit. The wine is 100% or nearly 100% Cabernet Sauvignon (depending on vintage) with ageing in new French-oak barrels for approximately 20–25 months.

What Makes It Special
-
From the Lotus Vineyard, the warmest of Dana’s estate sites, hand-farmed and ultra-low-yield for maximum intensity.
-
Nearly all Cabernet Sauvignon, planted on volcanic bedrock, producing wines with power and minerality rarely matched.
-
Matured extensively in 100% new French oak barrels for a bold yet refined structure.
-
Sought after by collectors for its elite terroir, limited production and long-term aging potential.
How to Enjoy
Decant for 30-45 minutes before serving to allow the aromas and tannins to open. Serve at 60-65°F in a large Bordeaux glass. Ideal with grilled rib-eye, herb-crusted lamb or aged savory cheeses. Although approachable now, this wine has excellent cellaring capability — expect evolution over 10-20 years.
