Process & Profile
Lochlea Harvest Edition Third Crop celebrates the annual barley harvest at Lochlea Farm in South Ayrshire. Released in 2024 as the third and final Harvest bottling in the distillery’s seasonal trilogy, it uses home-grown Laureate barley to connect the whisky with the working farm behind it.
The maturation combines refill bourbon barrels and Port hogsheads, alongside a single Oloroso sherry butt. This cask recipe gives the expression a rich, dessert-like character, bringing together bright fruit, creamy sweetness and a savoury touch of spice.
Bottled at 46% ABV without chill filtration or added colour, Third Crop offers notes of strawberry jam, clotted cream, baked apple pie and white chocolate. Cracked black pepper balances the sweetness on the finish.
