Bowmore 15 Year Old is a single malt scotch whisky with a 43% alcohol by volume (abv). The drink is characterized by rich raisin and gentle smoke flavors that lead the way to a delicious chocolaty center.
This scotch whisky is matured first in bourbon barrels, then in Oloroso casks, making it a fine example of a sherry cask finish. The last three years spent in the Oloroso sherry casks give the Bowmore 15 Year Old its rich, deep color and a robust warming finish.
The tasting notes for Bowmore 15 are as follows:
- On the eye, the whisky presents a burnt Sienna color.
- Breathing in, you'll notice dark chocolate and raisin aromas that complement the classic Bowmore smokiness.
- On sipping, you'll experience wonderful cedar wood and rich treacle toffee flavors.
- As you savor the drink, you'll detect spicy, toffee, sherry, and barley notes.
