Process & Profile
Lochlea Sowing Edition Third Crop Single Malt Scotch Whisky captures the fresh, floral character of spring on Lochlea Farm. Released in 2024, it is the third and final Sowing installment in the distillery’s seasonal trilogy. Its name celebrates the planting of barley seeds for the coming harvest.
Made with barley grown on Lochlea Farm, this single malt matures entirely in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels. The whisky received nine months more maturation than the casks selected for Sowing Edition Second Crop, offering another stage in the development of Lochlea’s spirit.
Almond and rose-petal aromas lead into apple blossom, crisp pear and white pepper. A gentle finish of warm straw and freshly cut grass reinforces its fresh, pastoral character. Bottled at 46% ABV without chill filtration or added coloring, Third Crop offers a distinctive expression of Lochlea’s fruit-and-floral style.
